Your love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me. ~Jesus Culture
Dear Complaint Department,
Life is out-of-order. Everywhere I turn, something or someone fails.
Plans come up empty, wells run dry. Hearts are broken, coupons expire.
Knees give out, idealists give in, plumbing bursts and hard drives crash.
Coffee gets cold and food will mold, buildings crumble and leaders stumble.
People we count on are late or distracted, show-offs and no-shows deliver their low-blows. Promises made, quickly fade. People neglect and fail to protect and are often inept.
In every way we let each other down. There’s no end to what we fail to be.
In the midst of the damaged, defeated and deranged, is there anything that comes with a lifetime guarantee?
Never Fails
But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
Lamentations 3: 21-26

I love this, Janet! Life lesson I learned these last few years. The ONLY one who won’t disappoint, is God. While we need people in our lives who are authentic and can hold sacred space for us, calling us out, holding us accountable; the ONLY real truthteller is God. It is far beyond our capacity as humans to love that way. If we place the label of truthteller on another, we will be disappointed, and they will fail. That role of truthteller can only belong to the ONLY one meant to fill it, with absolute unconditional love and devotion. People fail us, God never will. xoxo, Lindsay
Thank you, Lindsay! What a difference it makes when we embrace this truth.
It is hard sometimes to see and feel God’s love. The past few days, God used my husband to show His love for me – Bob surprised me with a 65th birthday party and also flew my daughter and grand daughter from SC for this celebration. God spoke to me this morning during the 5 min of silence our church has been doing during Lent – and said, “How can you doubt my love? This was an extravagant gift of love to you from your husband through Me.” Wow! God is good. I love the song on the video.
Sylvie, I’m delighted for you! I, too, forget to attribute the kindness of others to the love of God. Thanks for sharing!
